Lisa, I, too, study printmaking. I'm learning the discipline of making notations as to the name of the paper and the manufacturer and color of the ink. If I mix inks, I'm making those notations too.
Also, looking at your lines on cloth, did you soak your cloth in soda ash, let it dry, and then print? Helps get the catalytic reaction between the dye and the cellulose molecules happening correctly.

Yes, I did soak my fabrics in soda ash first and let them dry. I am thinking that maybe I did too many at one time and some spots just didn't get enough. Next time, I might try to put the soda ash in with the dye. But when you do that, you have to use it up fairly quickly as the reaction is already started.
