I feel like it is a great background for a focal point of some type.LynnDelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10768805817727296634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9195767203341007367.post-6311215928169614402009-08-21T18:06:20.363-06:002009-08-21T18:06:20.363-06:00I like the curved piecing of the water. Keep working on it.JYA Fiberartshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07573692924116259569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9195767203341007367.post-64721539264750575672009-08-21T13:32:37.151-06:002009-08-21T13:32:37.151-06:00a very serene piece. Can you make a color-scan print of the piece and try out some different possibilities? Perhaps a few delica beads or a line of stem stitch on one seam. Too much and you will lose the serenity of the piece. Sorry I'm not good enough at photoshop to try out some ideas for you.sylvianoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9195767203341007367.post-60932316215663364922009-08-20T10:02:36.204-06:002009-08-20T10:02:36.204-06:00I like the hand quilting. One thing you might consider is adding one or two stitches in a bright blue color that would be visible--in random locations. Just a very few.Jeri C Pollockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01056095458921366579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9195767203341007367.post-13432690916450425402009-08-20T08:41:14.810-06:002009-08-20T08:41:14.810-06:00I like this, it is very peaceful. Did you hand quilt the stripes at the bottom?Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07668298533890622009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9195767203341007367.post-39759900078787360342009-08-20T08:33:28.172-06:002009-08-20T08:33:28.172-06:00I really like this piece, it's very calming. It would be nice to have hanging on the wall of my cubicle at work, for those times when an escape is needed!

As for the quilting, i LIKE the hand quilting -- the texture it produces is very different from machine quilting. I think it makes a nice contrast to the machine quilting I also like the contrast between the curves and the straight lines.

JillJillWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13485471495727028432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9195767203341007367.post-62909197759723254362009-08-19T06:12:36.959-06:002009-08-19T06:12:36.959-06:00It is hard to see the different color thread on th...It is hard to see the different color thread on the top area- I don't know if that is from the picture, or because it is hand quilted. Why not try some machine quilting on a piece of fabric like the one you used on this, and see? If it is texture you are after, machine quilting certainly has a more definitive line.

I like the curvy piecing, by the way- it lends a nice sinuous line to an otherwise geometric piece.Beverlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08679598993090941074noreply@blogger.com
